Mystery Thing... (Hint: it's related to an unseasonably and unreasonably warm spring day.)
And the answer is... it's my tongue licking an ice-cube from behind!
It's spring in Australia, and has been for less than two weeks. The temperature in Melbourne has been creeping up from peaking in the low teens, to the peaking in the high teens (celsius, that is, I don't know the conversion for farenheit, we haven't covered that yet in puppy school).
This is all normal. Except for this Saturday, when the temperature actually reached 30 degrees! That's a summer temperature! I hope that doesn't mean this summer's going to be super-hot like last year - that was a bit icky.
When it got really hot last summer, my human would give me an ice-cube to play with - it was loads of fun, and kept me cool. So on Saturday, after we'd been out for a quick round-the-block, she gave me an ice-cube to cool down, and I chased it all over the lounge. And licked it a lot, too.
Here's a side view - check out my long tongue!

I love that picture of you with the ice cube, it is funny. I like ice cubes too, but my favorite is popsicles.
licks and sniffs, Sasha
In Malaysia it's summer all the time and we lick ice cubes too...

Hi Sasha - autumn is coming here, the wind is picking up and the days are getting shorter. Female human says that high winds and poo bags are a dangerous combination - but she's the one with the fixation for the stuff, picking it up the SECOND we go! We wonder what she does it with it all sometimes! Does she collect it? Compare it with other dog owners' collections? Does she perhaps take it to work with her to remind her of us? We'll probably never know....!
Anyway - we're digressing slightly. You look lovely with that ice cube Sasha - even your tongue is cute!!

I like ice cubes too! Sometimes I eat them & sometimes I don't. When I don't my people say lots of words when they step in a cold wet puddle!
